At Christ The King Community Church in Mount Vernon you will find real people in real relationships that really do reach out with love and acceptance to all kinds of people. We value very highly authenticity and acceptance.
We’ve got a casual atmosphere and a growing group of loving people who find ways to support each other in “doing life” together. We make sure that our teaching is relevant and applicable to living our lives out each day. We especially welcome people who have given up on church in the past but are interested in giving a relationship with God another try. Looking forward to seeing you.
Cliff Tadema :: Location Pastor
Cliff became pastor of Christ The King Mount Vernon in 2008. Before that he was pastor of the Anacortes CTK. Prior to being called into the pastorate on a full time basis, Cliff spent 18 years in the investment business, fourteen months in federal prison and five years in the building industry. A father of four and grandfather to ten (and counting) and a marriage of 34 plus years to his wife, Kate, gives him a unique perspective on life and what it means to truly follow Jesus through the ups and downs in today’s world.

Elijah Tadema :: Worship Director
Elijah has a heart for all things about worship with an emphasis on music. He directs the musicians at both the Riverside and Downtown locations and also writes music himself. His desire is to see people fully engaged and free to worship as God calls them to do.

Grace Lawler :: Director of Children's Ministries
Grace brings vitality, fun and purpose to Children’s Ministries. Her enthusiasm goes beyond providing child care. She is determined that the children will also learn what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and how that can and should impact how they live. Grace live is out herself and it’s contagious to children and teachers alike.

Jonathan Lawler :: Media Director
Jonathan has a love of all things technological. He oversees the production of the media for the Sunday services including the video, power point and podcasts. He also helps out with special projects with youth and other ministries that need video or technological help.

Dorenda Gwaltney :: Benevolence Director
Dorenda brings a deep level of CARE to the needs of people in Skagit Valley. She loves to pray, listen and build into people's lives. She has great hope for seeing lives transformed. She has been married for 20 years to her husband Wayne and they have five children. Dorenda & Wayne love to serve together in reaching out to people with love, acceptance & forgiveness.

Doc Clemens :: Director of Men's Ministries
Richard (Doc) Clemens embodies the servant leader. He believes it is his role to serve and support those men who are doing ministry to and for men. As such he is a proponent of all of the men’s group that help men become the spiritual leaders of their families and to accept their God given responsibilities as men in society. Doc and his team support, Men’s Fraternity, Men of Iron, Samson Society, Men’s Monthly Breakfast Group as well as men’s small groups.

Jenny Montgomery :: Director Women's Ministries
Jenny delights in connecting women together, watching them grow in their relationship with Christ and applying it to daily living. She models a "woman after God's own heart." She and her husband Tim have been married for 20+ years and have three children.
Jenny and her ministry team (Deb, Robyn, Portia & Beth) invite you to visit the Women's Ministries Kiosk on Sundays. They are committed to praying for you, providing resources and instruction for you to grow in your faith, and creating opportunities for you to establish friendships with other women.

Lisa McKinnon :: Office Manager
In her role as Office Manager, Lisa oversees the many day-to-day operations of the busy office with a consistent joy and "can do" attitude. One of our newer members to the team, we quickly began wondering what we ever did without her! She is the friendly voice you hear when you call the church office. Lisa always gets the job done, while maintaining a flexible attitude and great care in dealing with people. These are just a few of the many reasons why she has been an outstanding addition to our staff.

Jonae Steinman :: Ministry Assistant
On Sundays, you will find Jonae at the small groups booth to help you get connected, as well as helping out with special events and leadership meetings. The newest member to our staff, Jonae jumped in with both feet and instantly became a beloved part of our team.

There is an opportunity provided during each of our worship services to return to the Lord our tithes and offerings, either through the bucket that is passed, or through a drop box.
